Minimum skill requirement: You can thread your own sewing machine confidently and have tried a couple of alterations. If you’re more experienced, this is a great chance to brush up and refine your skills.

First session: Instructor demo class (no sewing). Kristiann will cover/demonstrate the following topics:

  • Regular hemming (for pants, skirts, dresses)
  • Euro hem on jeans
  • Patching a hole in denim
  • Tapering pant legs
  • Easy fitting on a garment that needs to be taken in - how to transfer the alterations to the opposite side to make symmetrical alterations.

Second session: Bring your sewing machine, and 2-3 garments to alter. This is a working session where you will receive guidance from Kristiann as you’re altering.

What to bring:

  • First session: notepad and pen

  • Second session: 2-3 garments to alter
  • Your sewing machine + thread
