This machine is functionally identical to the current model (2000cpx). The only 2 differences, the shape of the body and old style incandescent light bulb (vs LED). Parts for the 1000cpx will be readily available for many years to comes. 

With 3 needles, this machine allows you to choose between triple coverstitch, narrow coverstitch, wide coverstitch, or single needle chainstitch. It has a free arm for easy hemming of pants and cuffs. It also has differential feed for gathering or wavy finishes.
